Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour and have a keen interest in supporting children in their education?

If yes, then this may be the role for you!

Teaching Personnel are working closely with the Headteacher of a secondary alternative provision for children aged 11-16. The provision based in area of Burnley require additional staff to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Autism and challenging behaviour. The setting provides support mostly for children who have social, emotional, or mental health difficulties.

Main duties
- Support learning both in and out of the classroom as directed to by the class teacher
- Support Individual behaviour plans
- Establish excellent working relationships with both pupils and staff
- Engage with pupils on a level to gain respect and trust
- Encourage children to interact and work co-operatively with others
- Support the children in engaging them in learning activities
- De-escalate high stress situations
- Use appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment and materials to support learning
- Promote the acceptance and inclusion of pupils within the classroom

  • Long-term, full-time role starting from September (1 year – Maternity cover)
  • £12.50 p/h

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
